Sometimes, a change in season and camera lens will bring a new level to an explore. It was a crisp, clear day as my buddies and I ventured forth into some known and some unknown territory, both with terrain and limitations of a 35mm 1.8 fixed lens. New access points were found and cats were befriended. The day ended with light fading in the upper level of the power station, a space previously unknown to me. Letchworth Village continues to hold secrets.
A study in the economic decline and subsequent abandonment of Americana; shot on digital, 35mm, and 120mm.

As Safe As Houses - Empty Rooms
Once again, my wanderings took me to the woods of northwestern New Jersey and the wonderland of vacant houses that are found there. This house was different from the others, not in terms of personal belongings left behind, but rather because of the wallpaper and flooring found in the second floor. The dying afternoon light illuminated interesting textures and highlighted a farmhouse once loved. Despite finding beauty in the floors and walls of the place, one is struck with the emptiness of the home.
